Zambia's Digital Transformation Boosted by New Training Programme

Zambia's digital transformation takes a significant step forward with a new training programme. The initiative, aligned with the Digital Zambia Acceleration Project (DZAP), aims to bolster regulatory capacity, enhance institutional collaboration, and bolster the country's digital infrastructure, with a focus on satellite technology.

The training programme, organised by the World Bank, ITU, and ZICTA, saw participation from the Electronic Government Division and SMART Zambia Institute. While the leader of SMART Zambia Division involved in the satellite training remains unnamed, the government's commitment to digital transformation is evident through its involvement.

DZAP, funded by the World Bank, seeks to expand internet access, strengthen last-mile connectivity, and extend the national backbone infrastructure. Satellite technology plays a crucial role in bridging connectivity gaps, particularly in rural and remote areas.

The training programme signals Zambia's dedication to building regulatory capacity and fostering collaboration. With DZAP's focus on expanding internet access and strengthening connectivity, the country moves closer to leveraging advanced technologies for digital transformation.
