New Head of Regensburg District Youth Office Brings Decades of Experience

Johann Götz has taken up the role of the head of the Regensburg District Youth Office, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to helping children, young people, and families in the region.

Götz began his career at the Federal Employment Agency, where he held various specialist and leadership positions. He later moved on to become the Managing Director for Placement and Counseling in Regensburg, and then the head of the Controlling and Finance department in Nuremberg. His most recent role was as the Managing Director for Benefit Payment in Munich.

With a background in the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Götz brings the prerequisites to meet the requirements of the head of the Regensburg District Youth Office. His education, long-standing experience in leading larger organizations, experience in social law, and experience in cooperation with committees and politics make him well-suited for the role.

Götz is aware of the challenges that lie ahead, particularly the limited financial resources that present a challenge for the Youth Office. He is focused on setting priorities, securing existing offers, and successfully implementing legal reforms such as the Children and Youth Welfare Inclusion Act.

In his new role, Götz is focusing on child protection, prevention, early promotion, and supporting families. He values cohesion, commitment, and reliability in his work and is prepared to listen respectfully, value the experiences of his new colleagues, and develop sustainable solutions step by step.

Close and trusting cooperation with schools, free carriers, and other partners is considered particularly important by Götz. He is motivated to lead the Youth Office at the Regensburg District Administration due to a personal interest in helping children, young people, and families in the region.

Götz has extensive experience managing complex structures and leading large teams. District Administrator Tanja Schweiger has officially welcomed Götz in his new role, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the Youth Office effectively.

Götz views his experiences at the Employment Agency as important and a source of motivation for taking on new tasks. He is particularly intended to work closely and in a trusting manner with the Jugendhilfe (youth welfare service) institutions and partners involved in youth support and care within the district.

Götz must reconcile the differing expectations of employees, partners, and the public, but he is confident that with his experience and commitment, he can navigate these challenges and make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in the Regensburg district.
