Yakutia's Thriving Education System: Over 450 New Teachers Annually, New Directions Ahead
Yakutia's educational system is thriving, with a steady stream of graduates entering the field and supportive measures in place for teachers. The region values its educators, with over 31,000 working in schools and kindergartens.
Pedagogical colleges in Yakutia graduate around 450 specialists each year, many of whom start their careers in local schools and kindergartens. The North-Eastern Federal University has contributed significantly to this, graduating over 800 teachers in the last three years alone. These new educators join a network that includes presidential schools, distance learning, and the 'Network Teacher' project.
Career guidance programs have sparked interest in teaching among students, with psychological and pedagogical classes opening to accommodate this. The region's teachers are renowned for their dedication, patience, inner strength, and love for children. To support them, programs like 'Teacher of the Arctic' and 'Rural Teacher' are in place, along with preferential Far Eastern mortgages.
The future of education in Yakutia looks promising, with new teaching directions set to open in 2025, including the teacher of technology and OBE. An educational cluster 'Pedagogy' is also in development. Furthermore, a law on the guarantees of the status of a teacher will come into force in 2026, with at least 100 million rubles allocated for support. The leadership of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and Aisen Nikolaev have congratulated teachers on Teacher's Day, recognizing their crucial role in shaping the region's future.
