Aligarh Dad Goes Public - Celebrates His Kid's 60% Pass in Class 12 Boards!

Dads, take note! Aligarh's Education Officer, Rakesh Singh, Jr. , just set a fine example on social media, celebrating his son Rishi's 60% pass in the Class 12 Boards. "Kudos to you, Rishi! You've nailed it with 60% in your intermediate exams!" Singh exclaimed on X, a day after the results were out.

His post recounted a heartfelt conversation with Rishi, who expressed doubts about his father's reaction to his moderately score. But Singh didn't bat an eye, instead he shared his own academic journey, which wasn't a bed of roses either.

"Hold up, Rishi! I managed a mere 52% in graduation, 60% in high school, and a decent 75% in intermediate! So, fret not, my boy!" Singh wrote, posting his son's marksheet to boot.

He went further, sharing his struggles with the General Knowledge subject during his graduation entrance at Allahabad University. But Singh recovered, excelling in History in the Public Service Commission exam, bagging the first position in his cadre in 2000.

"I did it, blame it on my pig-headedness!" Singh quipped, appealing to parents not to push their dreams onto their kids, but offer them a supportive environment instead.

"Look, if you couldn't make it, no sweat! After all, dreams are meant for your kids, not to ride them hard! Life's not all about grades, remember to encourage your kids!" Singh stated.

When contacted by PTI, Singh explained his post was meant for parents who mined their kid's exam performance for gold.

"I'm a firm believer in 'jab jago tabhi savera' (new beginnings anytime)! Success isn't only about slogging it out, you can turn it around anytime!" Singh said.
