Unrestricted access to moderation cards offered for firefighters participating in Kamishibai storytelling theaters.
The Association of Fire Departments in North Rhine-Westphalia (VdF NRW) and Provinzial have collaborated to develop new fire safety education materials, specifically designed for the Kamishibai storytelling theater. These new picture stories, titled 'Recognizing Dangers' and 'Correct Behavior in Case of Fire', are now available to fire departments free of charge.
The Kamishibai storytelling theater, a traditional storytelling form originally from Japan, uses picture cards inserted into a distinctive wooden frame to support a story. These new picture stories have gained high attention and positive utility in fire safety education, particularly for children in kindergarten and primary school age.
Maria Koch, fire safety education and awareness representative at the VdF NRW, explains the value of the Kamishibai storytelling theater. She notes that it strengthens self-protection and self-help skills in fire safety education.
The new moderation cards, which are a fixed component in all fire safety boxes handed over to fire departments, can be easily and quickly accessed by as many fire departments as possible.
