Two New Elementary Schools Triumphantly Open Despite Challenges
Two new elementary schools, Wilhelm-Strauß-Straße and Am Ringerberg, greeted visitors with musical performances and colorful displays, marking a successful start despite challenges. Deputy Mayor Schüssler confirmed the positive reception, acknowledging ongoing construction sites at both schools.
The children of Wilhelm-Strauß-Straße Elementary School welcomed visitors with two songs, accompanied by vibrant pictures. Principal Svenja Theißen led the tour, highlighting the new first grade. Meanwhile, Am Ringerberg Elementary School also offered a musical greeting, composed by teacher Lena Rehberg. Principal Silvana Tenbült discussed the school's history and its connection to Vitusschule.
Both schools aim to foster inclusive environments. Am Ringerberg Elementary School is establishing a violence prevention program, with the parents' association collecting donations. Mayor Heinrichs praised the schools' starts, despite facing language barriers as a challenge.
