In a significant move to drive blockchain education and expansion of opportunities in technology and cryptocurrency for Africans, leading global cryptocurrency firms are partnering with African companies. These collaborations are aimed at organizing events, educational programs, and partnerships to bridge the knowledge gap in cryptocurrency use cases across Africa.

Tether, the issuer of the stablecoin USDT, has partnered with African crypto exchange Quidax. Although a specific commencement date for the program has not been announced, Quidax's CEO, Buchi Okoro, stated that this partnership will help bridge the knowledge gap in cryptocurrency use cases in Africa. Paolo Ardoino, Tether's CEO, did not provide a specific comment in the press release.

Quidax's initiative with Tether will initially focus on Nigeria and Ghana, aiming to educate over 15,000 individuals and businesses about the use of bitcoin and stablecoins. The partnership plans to launch financial literacy campaigns and community engagement programs to promote the practical use of cryptocurrencies in these countries.

Meanwhile, Quidax and Tether are not the only ones making strides in Africa's blockchain education. Mariblock, a research and media company advancing blockchain clarity in Africa, has partnered with Busha, one of Nigeria’s regulated crypto exchanges, to launch the inaugural OnChain Conference 2025 in Lagos. Scheduled for September 10-11, 2025, this event aims to unite builders, policymakers, investors, and digital infrastructure pioneers to explore blockchain adoption, regulatory clarity, stablecoins, payments, tokenized assets, and building talent pipelines in Africa’s blockchain ecosystem.

In a similar vein, the Kenya Blockchain and Crypto Conference 2025, organized by Chasing Mavericks, gathers over 1,500 attendees and features more than 45 exhibitors demonstrating blockchain and crypto applications bridging traditional finance and decentralized ecosystems. It highlights educational efforts on blockchain’s wider use cases beyond finance and the growing utility of stablecoins in cross-border payments, which helps build knowledge and interest in the sector among Kenyan tech audiences.

Further, key African blockchain events like the Blockchain Africa Conference 2025 in South Africa continue to bring together global innovators and local stakeholders to discuss regulation, technology trends, and blockchain use cases, reinforcing Africa’s growing role in the global blockchain industry.

Recently, Adeniyi Abiodun, cofounder of the Sui blockchain's parent company Mysten Labs, announced a $1.3 million fund to train blockchain software engineers in Nigeria. Global crypto exchange Bybit, on the other hand, has partnered with African talent firm Alt School Africa to provide opportunities for Africans in tech. Bybit launched a $100,000 scholarship for Alt School’s brightest students and started the Bybit Academy.

These initiatives collectively provide educational platforms, foster regulatory discussions, and create opportunities for African developers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to engage deeply with blockchain and crypto technologies, accelerating adoption and innovation on the continent.
