Streamlined, Cost-Effective, and Quality Home Development: Simplifying, Reducing Costs, and Enhancing Construction in Duisburg and Lower Rhine

Are you ready for the forthcoming construction blitz in Duisburg & Lower Rhine? IG BAU Union certainly is! According to their recent data, 2769 new apartments were constructed in the region last year, with 641 of them being single or two-family homes. The grand total for residential building costs in 2024 amounts to approximately 392.7 million euros. With such promising numbers, IG BAU Duisburg-Niederrhein urges the region and North Rhine-Westphalia to embrace this construction boom for affordable housing!

But that's not all - we need more, says Karina Pfau, chairwoman of IG BAU Duisburg-Niederrhein. To make this happen, she believes there must be some deregulation in the industry. "Slim down those hefty standards and cost-driving DIN norms, and you'll see more new apartment buildings popping up all over," states Pfau. To drive down costs even further, she proposes focusing on building type E. This simple, streamlined, and efficient construction method boasts lower ceiling and outer wall strengths, resulting in cost savings on both materials and energy.

However, the real savings come from technology: heating, ventilation, sanitation, and electricity systems. Selecting lower-end products, parking space minimization, and balanced noise and climate protection considerations will all contribute to significantly lower living costs. So, are you ready to build better, stronger, and more affordable housing in Duisburg & Lower Rhine? Join IG BAU Duisburg-Niederrhein in their mission to attach the "good & cheap" label to housing construction for good!
