SAP & VUP Join Forces to Close Australia's Digital Skills Gap

SAP SE and Victoria University Polytechnic (VUP) have joined forces to tackle Australia's digital skills gap. The collaboration has launched a 12-week training program, with 38 mid-career workers already enrolled. The initiative focuses on SAP skills assessment, with participants gaining expertise in S/4 HANA Financial and Management Accounting.

Damien Bueno, SAP Australia and New Zealand's President and Managing Director, sees this partnership as a means to open doors to high-demand digital roles. The program aims to address the nation's digital skills shortage by upskilling experienced accountants.

Participants will delve into S/4 HANA Financial Accounting and S/4 HANA Management Accounting for SAP Consultants. Upon completion, they will have the chance to apply for a 12-week work placement with an SAP customer or partner. Among the participants are Margit Robertson, seeking to leverage data transparency for innovation, and Deepa Nair, aspiring to become a technical program manager specializing in digital transformation with SAP.

Wayne Butson, VUP's Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Vocational Education, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He praised its industry relevance and focus on future digital skills.

The SAP-VUP training program, with its initial cohort of 38 workers, is set to equip mid-career professionals with in-demand SAP skills assessment. Upon completion, participants will be well-positioned to secure work placements and contribute to Australia's digital economy.
