Hoffmann's career has seen her excel in roles at prominent digital media outlets. She previously led the editorial team at BW24 in Stuttgart, turning it profitable within nine months. Later, she significantly developed the journalistic network of Ippen.Media as editor-in-chief of Buzzfeed. Despite her working-class background with migrant roots, Hoffmann identifies with the 'Frankfurter Rundschau' and its values.

Michael Bayer, who has been serving as deputy editor-in-chief, will continue to contribute to editorial projects for both print and online. Karin Dalka, who has significantly shaped the 'FR' in content and personally, will retire on January 1, 2026. She and Bayer led the 'FR' interimly after the previous editor-in-chief's departure.
