Rhein-Erft-Kreis Police Hosts 'Some Were Neighbors' Holocaust Exhibition

The central building of the Rhein-Erft-Kreis police in Bergheim-Zieverich is currently hosting the exhibition 'Some Were Neighbors', a travelling show organized by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. The display, part of the local police's extremism prevention efforts, aims to educate visitors about the dangers of National Socialism.

County Commissioner Frank Rock recently visited the exhibition with students from a vocational college in Bergheim. Rock emphasized the importance of understanding the past, stating, 'Knowing our history is crucial for safeguarding and shaping our democracy.'

The exhibition, which focuses on the Holocaust and its impact on everyday people, has drawn several school classes. A vocational school class from Bergheim was among the visitors, providing a valuable learning experience for the students.

The 'Some Were Neighbors' exhibition continues its run at the central police building in Bergheim-Zieverich. Its goal is to serve as a reminder of the past and a warning for the future, encouraging visitors to reflect on the importance of tolerance and understanding in society.
