Return of GSMA MWC25 in Kigali Emphasizes Africa's Digital Advancement and Launches Ministerial Programme for Decision-Makers

MWC25 Kigali, set to take place from 21-23 October 2025, is poised to be the African continent's largest connectivity event. The event, strategically located at the Kigali Convention Centre, focuses on key themes related to shaping Africa's digital future, particularly emphasising the Connected Continent and The AI Future.

This event aligns with the broader MWC global mission, intersecting social policy, business leadership, and digital innovation. Key features include exploration of advanced technologies such as AI, 5G, intelligent infrastructure, and digital ecosystems that drive industrial capabilities and sustainable digital transformation.

MWC25 Kigali provides a platform for industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers to gather, share insights, and showcase cutting-edge solutions that impact Africa's digital landscape. The event emphasises discussions on how AI and next-generation networks reshape connectivity and enable new business models, reflecting similar themes at other MWC events globally.

New for 2025, MWC Kigali will launch the GSMA Ministerial Programme, bringing together policy makers, industry leaders, and innovators to discuss and shape Africa's digital future. Keynote speakers at the event include Sunil Taldar (CEO of Airtel), Hassan Jaber (CEO of AXIAN Telecom), Frehiwot Tamiru (CEO of Ethiotel), Ralph Mupita (CEO of MTN), Yasser Shaker (EVP & CEO of Orange's Middle East and Africa), and Hon. Mrs. Paula Ingabire (Rwanda's Minister of ICT and Innovation).

The Mobile for Development (M4D) Theatre at MWC25 Kigali will host discussions on topics like AI, mobile money, humanitarian innovation, agriculture, climate, and digital inclusion. In response to increasing demand, MWC25 Kigali will host FinTech, 5G, and the debut Security Summit.
