North Texas Food Bank Awards $1.3M in Grants to Expand Food Access
The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) has awarded grants totalling $1.3 million to 33 partner agencies across its 12-county service area. The funds aim to expand food access and address underlying barriers to food security.
NTFB's grants include Capacity-Building Grants, which help agencies serve more neighbours by expanding facilities and purchasing essential equipment. In 2025, these grants totalled $2.03 million and supported projects such as pantry renovations, refrigeration and warehouse equipment purchases, vehicle acquisitions, and improvements in storage and neighbour services. Notable recipients included Dallas Brazilian SDA, CareCenter Ministries, Jewish Family Services, and Catholic Charities Dallas. Since 2015, NTFB has awarded over $12 million in grants to help partners expand their capacity and reach more neighbours in need.
Additionally, NTFB presented Hope for Tomorrow Grants, supporting holistic services that target the root causes of food insecurity. Funds will be used for projects such as pantry renovations, refrigeration equipment, workforce development programs, and housing stability services. NTFB's network enables it to deliver more than 136 million meals annually to those in need.
The North Texas Food Bank's grants aim to strengthen its partner network and provide food to hundreds of thousands of North Texans each year. By expanding food access and addressing underlying barriers to food security, NTFB works towards its mission of ensuring no child, senior, or family in its service area goes hungry.
