Nizhny Novgorod Railway School to Get Modern Facilities by 2025
The Nizhny Novgorod Railway Technical School is set to undergo a significant transformation by 2025. The capital repair of its building will be completed and equipped with modern facilities, thanks to a substantial investment of 140 million rubles from federal, regional budgets, and enterprise funds. This project is part of the national 'Youth and Children' initiative, which includes nine federal projects and programs, implemented at the request of President Putin since 2025.
The 'Professionalism' project, under the national project, aims to reform secondary vocational education and focus on necessary professions. Governor Gleb Nikitin and head of Gorky Railway Sergei Dorofeevsky recently visited a new educational cluster in the railway transport sector at the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Communication Ways (NIPs). This cluster, the 17th of its kind, is set to train a new generation of specialists for the railway industry using modern equipment.
Minister of Education Mikhail Putchkov noted that the 'Professionalism' project allows colleges to become modern educational organizations through cooperation with employers. Currently, 400 students are being educated at the technical college under updated programs developed in collaboration with industrial partners. By 2027, it is planned to educate more than 800 students annually at the technical college.
The modernization of educational infrastructure at NIPs is expected to significantly enhance the quality of vocational training in the railway industry. With the completion of the capital repair and the introduction of modern equipment, the Nizhny Novgorod Railway Technical School will be well-positioned to meet the demands of the industry and provide a steady stream of skilled professionals.
