New teaching location launched at TPU, supported by NGK and the "System" Foundation
Tomsk, May 22 - RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) has unveiled a new student space and classroom, in collaboration with the System Foundation and National Gas Company (NGK), allowing students to study and work on real-world projects, the university's press service announced.
The opening of the facility for TPU students and young researchers took place during the All-Russia U-NOVUS - 2025 forum, which is being held in Tomsk from May 21-23. The space was created as part of a 2024 agreement between the university and the System Foundation for the development of education and employment opportunities for youth.
Larisa Pastukhova, president of the System Foundation, stated, "The training of in-demand specialists is a multifactorial process, and educational space, alongside the transfer of fundamental knowledge and practical skills, plays an essential role. We are pleased to collaborate with the National Gas Company and TPU in creating a platform where students can not only study but also work on real-world projects."
In addition, during the official opening ceremony, TPU and NGK signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement outlines the joint development of scientific research and the training of highly qualified specialists for the chemical industry.
Leonid Sukhikh, acting rector of TPU, explained, "The agreement with the National Gas Company signifies the continuation of our current partnership and a platform for further expanding joint endeavors. The university is already engaged in several scientific research projects in collaboration with our industrial partners... Furthermore, under the direct guidance of NGK experts, the university has launched a new master's program in micro-tonnage chemistry."
The System Foundation is one of Russia's largest charitable foundations, established in 2004. Its mission involves the development of social and human capital in the regions through the provision of equal opportunities for the realization of personal, creative, social, and professional potential.
