The City of Nordhorn welcomed its new trainees with an action-packed induction day, designed to make their entry into the city administration as smooth as possible. The event was organised and guided by the trainees from the second year, ensuring a warm and friendly welcome.

The day began with a shared breakfast, followed by several information sessions that provided initial insights into the city's administration. The trainees then embarked on a bike tour, visiting external locations of the city and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the city's operations.

During the bike tour, the group stopped at the Nordhorn fire department, where they were given the unique opportunity to view the city from above using a fire engine's lifting platform. The day was varied, with different activities planned throughout, including an "office rally" where various departments of the administration were explored.

Training sessions were also an integral part of the induction, with the trainees receiving IT training and etiquette training to prepare them for their apprenticeship. A pizza break, a pedal boat ride on the Vechtesee, and a joint barbecue were other highlights of the day, providing opportunities for the trainees to bond and get to know each other.

The induction days aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the city administration for the new trainees, and the City of Nordhorn wishes them a successful start and an exciting and educational apprenticeship. The youth and trainee representation were also involved in the joint barbecue, ensuring that the new trainees felt included from the very beginning.

The day ended on a fun note with a joint bowling session, providing a relaxing and enjoyable conclusion to a packed induction day. The City of Nordhorn extends a warm welcome to all new trainees and wishes them every success in their apprenticeship.
