New Hire Assumes Role of Photonics Technology Acceleration Manager on Our Site
Annette Daley has taken on a new role as the Photonics Acceleration Manager at the University of Southampton's startup accelerator and the CORNERSTONE Photonics and Innovation Centre (CPIC). This appointment is a significant step forward in the university's mission to support the growth and development of photonics-focused startups and innovations.
With over 30 years of experience in Account Management, Relationship Management, and Business Development, Daley brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. Her extensive experience, spanning sectors like Finance and IT, at companies ranging from multi-national corporates to startups, will be instrumental in bridging the gap between research, innovation, and commercialization within the University’s ecosystem.
In her new role, Daley will be responsible for facilitating the acceleration of photonics startups by providing mentorship, business guidance, and access to resources. She will connect entrepreneurs and researchers with industry partners, investors, and academic experts to foster collaboration and commercialization. Daley's role is integral to the ambitious project aiming to build a pipeline of silicon photonics enabled companies in multiple industries by the end of the decade.
Prof Callum Littlejohns, the CORNERSTONE Photonics Innovation Centre Manager, is delighted to welcome Daley to the team. "Annette's extensive experience and network will be invaluable in helping us to connect with more entrepreneurs and researchers, and to support them in turning their innovative ideas into successful businesses," he said.
