Monthly History Hour by BCM in July delves into the enduring impact of the Northern Kentucky Athletic Directors Hall of Fame.
Join us for the next edition of NKY History Hour, happening virtually on Tuesday, July 1 at 6:30 p.m. This fascinating event will delve into the history of the Northern Kentucky Athletic Directors Hall of Fame.
The evening will be graced by three legendary coaches and educators, all inductees of the Hall of Fame. Bob Schneider, known for his transformative work in NewCath football and three state championships, will be present, as will Allen Feldhaus, celebrated for his achievements in basketball, baseball, and football coaching.
While the specific third coach presenting at the event isn't explicitly named, given the context and coverage, we can expect this distinguished alumnus to be another notable figure associated with the Athletic Directors Hall of Fame.
Mike Swauger, a Bellevue native and 1965 graduate of Bellevue High School, will also be joining the panel. Swauger earned 10 athletic letters across football, basketball, and baseball at Bellevue High School and has left a lasting legacy on Northern Kentucky athletics. His contributions include serving as public address announcer for Bellevue football for 35 seasons, organizing the 9th Region All-A Classic Tournament, and the statewide All "A" Classic.
Swauger's community engagement is evident in his role as master of ceremonies for several athletic banquets and his regular contributions to the Bellevue Community News since 2019. His numerous honours include inductions into the Northern Kentucky Athletic Directors Hall of Fame, Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame, and Bellevue High School Hall of Fame.
Grady Brown, another presenter, started his love for sports at a young age and went on to play and coach baseball for several institutions. He is a member of eight Hall of Fames. Charlie Coleman, a Newport native inspired by local sports legends, will also be present. Coleman spent much of his career at Bellevue High School and later served as a Campbell County Commissioner. He played and later coached baseball at Northern Kentucky State College (now NKU), earning his BA in 1972 and an MEd from Xavier University in 1977.
