MBC Launches Community First Scholarship for High School Seniors

My Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is proud to announce the Community First Scholarship. This initiative aims to support high school seniors in the MBC radio station service area who plan to pursue further education. The scholarship, which aligns with MBC's community focus, will award $2,500 towards the recipient's continuing education.

To apply, students must submit a 60-90 second video explaining what 'community' means to them. Additionally, a 1- to 2-minute recording or video sharing their thoughts on the same topic is required. The closing line of the submission should be 'My name is [name]. That's what Community means to me'. Applications and audio submissions must be received by June 3rd at 7pm (EST).

Melissa Siegel, General Manager of MBC's 104.9 myFM, stresses the scholarship's fit with the station's community focus. She believes it's an opportunity for MBC to give back to the community that supports them. The scholarship is open to any student entering college, university, or a skilled trades program.

The Community First Scholarship is a testament to MBC's commitment to supporting local education and fostering a sense of community. Students are encouraged to apply by the deadline, showcasing their understanding of community and their aspirations for further education. The recipient will receive $2,500 towards their continuing education.
