Making Progress and Plans for the Future: Initial Update from Sünna Primary School
The Support Association of Sünna Primary School, established in September 2023, has been actively working towards improving learning conditions and fostering a strong sense of community spirit at the school. Since its inception, the association has been successful in implementing numerous projects, with more on the horizon.
One of the earliest projects undertaken by the association was the creation of new raised beds and the provision of seeds for the school garden. This initiative not only promoted a hands-on approach to learning but also encouraged a love for nature and sustainability among the students.
In February 2024, the association was officially registered, marking a significant milestone in its journey. Around the same time, a workshop on non-violent communication was held for the second graders, teaching them conflict resolution strategies and fostering mindful interaction.
The "Think Colorfully" democracy promotion program in the Wartburg district provided additional resources for the school. This included cameras for the classrooms and a flip chart, as well as funding for a workshop that aimed to encourage creative thinking and democratic values among the students.
A charity run held at the end of the last school year raised funds for future purchases. Unfortunately, as of now, the association has not yet implemented a project funded by the charity run. However, the association is looking forward to acquiring a pavilion and seating boxes for the "Classroom in the Green" through the LEADER regional management.
The circus project, scheduled for September, will be financially supported by the municipality of Unterbreizbach and the Sünna Agricultural Cooperative. This exciting event is sure to provide an unforgettable learning experience for the students.
The association sees itself as a bridge between parents, school, and sponsors. It has received financial support from regional partners such as Kali and Salz, Hellweg, BauSpezi, DuoPlast, Rewe, parent contributions, and successful participation in various funding programs.
