International Gathering of German-Greek Female Youth

Wiesbaden, Germany - The State Capital Wiesbaden recently hosted a groundbreaking project that aimed to empower young women across borders. This initiative, funded by the EU program Erasmus+, saw the close cooperation between the Wilhelm-Heinrich-von-Riehl School's support association and the Greek partner organization Filoxenia.

The project, a significant part of "Wiesbaden International," an initiative of the state capital to promote international youth and specialist encounters, focused on presentations by young people about their experiences. Workshops on gender roles and stereotypes, joint creative projects, and excursions were all part of the programme.

The reception, held at the town hall, was graced by the presence of Dr. Patricia Becher, the Social Affairs Commissioner, who welcomed guests from both countries. The event ended with a group photo and the ceremonial handover of participation certificates.

The participants emphasized the mutual empowerment and strengthening of young women across borders. They presented their ideas and wishes for a fair society to Dr. Becher in the form of a self-designed creative work. Dr. Becher stated that the project encourages girls to think beyond borders, ask questions, and take a stand.

The tour of the town hall included historic rooms, the original staircase from 1887, a gallery of mayors, and the city council chamber. Both partners, Wilhelm-Heinrich-von-Riehl School's support association and Filoxenia, are committed to issues such as equality, environmental issues, and remembrance work. This collaboration is a testament to their shared vision and commitment to fostering cross-cultural exchange, enhancing skills, and promoting gender equality among young women.

The collaboration between Wilhelm-Heinrich-von-Riehl School's support association and Filoxenia, whose shared vision fosters cross-cultural exchange, enhances skills, and promotes gender equality among young women, also incorporated education-and-self-development sessions as part of the project in Wiesbaden, Germany. The young participants experienced lifestyle transformations through the mutual empowerment and strengthening of women across borders, learning to think beyond boundaries and taking a stand, as emphasized by Dr. Becher.
