Lower Bavaria is set to host an online information event for farmers interested in transitioning to organic farming on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. The event, organised by the Organic Model Regions in Lower Bavaria, aims to provide valuable insights into the process and available support options.

The event is supported by several key organisations, including the Offices of Food, Agriculture, and Forestry in Lower Bavaria, the Agricultural School and College of Organic Agriculture in Landshut, the Bavarian Association for Organic Farming, the Bavarian Farmers' Association, and the Bavarian State Institute of Agriculture. Additionally, the umbrella organisation of organic farming associations and organisations such as Naturland, Bund Naturschutz, and Landesbund für Vogel- und Naturschutz (LBV) will contribute to the event.

Holger Reising from the LfL (Bavarian State Institute of Agriculture) will provide an overview of the organic market during the event. Representatives from the farmers' association and the Office of Food, Agriculture, and Forestry will discuss their funding offers and activities.

Various local practitioner operations will share their experiences with organic farming, offering practical insights into the day-to-day realities of organic farming. No new practitioners have been announced as of yet.

Registration is required for the event, which will take place from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. For more information or to register, interested parties can contact Veronika Stanglmayr at [email protected] or Tel. 0871 408-2127.

It's worth noting that approximately 11% of agricultural operations in Bavaria have transitioned to organic farming, but Lower Bavaria lags behind at 6.7%. This event presents a unique opportunity for farmers in the region to learn more about organic farming and the support available to them.
