Impact Investing Sector Welcomes Key Appointments at iGravity, Unity Trust Bank, and Big Issue Invest

iGravity and Unity Trust Bank have recently announced key appointments, while Big Issue Invest has welcomed a new managing director and a supervisory board member. These changes aim to strengthen the leadership and expertise of these organisations in the impact investing sector.

iGravity, a leading impact investing firm, has appointed Susan Tirop as co-head of investments. Tirop brings over 15 years of experience in impact investing and advisory, making her a valuable addition to the team. Prior to joining iGravity, Tirop's position was not publicly specified. Meanwhile, Martin Barrett has been appointed as COO at Unity Trust Bank. Barrett will focus on unlocking business growth potential and enhancing services to customers.

In other news, Big Issue Invest has welcomed Holger Westphely as its new managing director. Westphely brings two decades of experience in finance and social investment to the role. The organisation has also appointed Paul de Klerk to its supervisory board. De Klerk previously served as COO, CFO, and chairman at AlpInvest Partners.

Big Issue Invest, which has invested over £100m in UK businesses with a social mission since 2005, allocated £9.3m to 50 social purpose organisations in 2025 alone. These investments reflect the organisation's commitment to supporting businesses that create positive social and environmental impact.

These appointments bring fresh perspectives and extensive experience to iGravity, Unity Trust Bank, and Big Issue Invest. With Tirop, Barrett, Westphely, and de Klerk on board, these organisations are well-positioned to continue driving impact investing and supporting businesses that create positive change.
