Women-Only Hunter Education Course Coming to Sheridan
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is hosting a women-only hunter education course in Sheridan, offering a comprehensive curriculum designed for beginners and experienced hunters alike. The course, aimed at promoting hunting ethics, responsibility, and safety, will take place at The Hub on Smith Street from August 22nd to August 24th.
The three-day course will cover a range of topics, including hunting ethics and responsibility, firearm safety, Wyoming wildlife statutes and regulations, wildlife identification, game care, and outdoor safety. The course material is written at a fourth-grade reading level, making it accessible to all participants.
The course will begin on August 22nd, with an evening session from 6 to 9pm, followed by two full days of instruction on August 23rd and 24th, from 8am to 3pm. The total cost for the course is $15, with a $5 registration fee payable upfront and an additional $10 payable on the first night of class.
Registration for the course is limited and is done online on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no minimum age restriction, but children 12 and under must attend with a parent or guardian. To earn their hunter education certificate, students must attend all sessions and pass a final test.
