Highlighting the Community: Dr. Vikranth Ravipati's Profile Insight
Dr. Vikranth Ravipati, a dentistry enthusiast from Hyderabad, India, is currently pursuing his studies at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health (EIOH). His passion for dentistry, combined with his innovative research, has made him a standout figure in the field.
During his time at EIOH, Dr. Ravipati has published three papers, one book chapter, and has two more in progress. His research focus involves developing innovative orthodontic procedures that allow patients with receding gums to safely undergo orthodontic treatment. This work is contributing to new approaches in managing orthodontics in patients with compromised gum health, aiming to improve treatment safety and outcomes in such cases[1].
One of Dr. Ravipati's best memories from his EIOH residency was being included in the EIOH family by Dr. Khan. He is also preparing for future endeavours, planning to continue with his research in dentistry, work in academics, and provide his patients with his best skills.
Dr. Ravipati's research has been recognised globally, with publications in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Prosthodontic Research and Development, European Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, and Nature Communications. He has an unpublished article on the Journal of Prosthodontic Research and Development and a forthcoming publication on InTechOpen[2][3][4]. He has also given an oral presentation in the Orofacial Pain and Headaches Grand Rounds international and a poster presentation at the Oral Medicine Conference.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ravipati enjoys the parks, trails, lakes, kayaking, and long biking trails in Rochester. His favourite meal is Hyderabadi Biryani, a dish of rice and marinated meat slow-cooked over wood or charcoal with authentic Hyderabadi spices.
Interestingly, if given another career choice, Dr. Ravipati would choose to be an astronaut or a space researcher. If he could have a superpower, he would choose the ability to alleviate all forms of suffering.
The OFP program at Eastman is unique and integrates multiprofessional rotations with the neurology headache center, psychiatry, sleep medicine, and physical therapy. Dr. Ravipati chose this program for its diverse community and unique specialty programs.
In his spare time, Dr. Ravipati enjoys watching cricket and playing badminton. His favourite travel destination is the Grand Canyon, AZ.
