Groundbreaking commences for T.W. Lewis Student Achievement Hub at CCOB
Grand Canyon University's (GCU) Colangelo College of Business (CCOB) is set to unveil a new state-of-the-art facility, the T.W. Lewis Center for Student Success. The construction, which began this month, is scheduled to be completed when students return to campus in late August.
The new centre, sponsored by the T.W. Lewis Foundation, will offer a range of modern amenities designed to equip students with the tools they need to thrive in the business world. These include a digital signage board for real-time updates, a stock market ticker for market insights, a broadcast studio for producing professional-level content, and a podcast room for recording and producing podcasts.
The T.W. Lewis Center for Student Success is expected to cater to students with diverse academic and professional pursuits, providing them with more tools, greater employment opportunities, and more marketplace exposure. CCOB Dean John Kaites believes the new facility will offer advantages that most business colleges don't currently possess.
In addition to these features, the T.W. Lewis Speaker Series will continue this fall at the CCOB lobby with improved acoustics. Last fall, the series, sponsored by the T.W. Lewis Foundation, featured prominent business executives discussing success, faith, wisdom, and providing advice to students.
The T.W. Lewis Center for Student Success aims to prepare traditional and online students for job opportunities through personal development. A digital signage board will be available for students seeking job or internship opportunities.
Construction on the broadcast studio and podcast room is expected to take one month. Once completed, these spaces will be used to produce content, including segments on that day's events, recaps, or replays of guests at the T.W. Lewis Speaker Series.
For those interested in the stock market, an updated ticker will be posted near the ceiling. The T.W. Lewis, founder of the T.W. Lewis Foundation, has found a new home for his philanthropic endeavours at GCU.
