InnoTruck Initiative Brings Science and Innovation to Trusetal Comprehensive School

The InnoTruck, a mobile innovation and science education project by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), will be visiting the Trusetal Comprehensive School in Brotterode-Trusetal, Germany, on September 5 and 6, 2024.

The InnoTruck aims to inform students about how science changes our lives and potential career paths in the MINT (Mathematics, Informatics, Natural Sciences, and Technology) area, which offers good prospects. During the visit, the schoolyard of Trusetal Comprehensive School (Am Schulhof 3, 98596 Brotterode-Trusetal) will play host to the double-decker truck showcasing an interactive exhibition focused on innovations and key future fields.

The exhibition on the InnoTruck includes over 60 hands-on exhibits for students to learn about current research in Germany. Topics covered include green hydrogen, new materials, and sustainable technologies. Virtual and augmented reality applications are used to demonstrate innovations that can be not only seen but also touched and tried out.

Guided tours, career guidance sessions, and experimental workshops are available for students to learn about current research projects and try out exhibits. Notable guests accompanying the InnoTruck in Brotterode-Trusetal include Claudia Pöhler, a geologist, and Dr. Leonie Weber, a botanist.

The InnoTruck offers a multimedia discovery journey from research through technology and application to future job profiles. The visit is open for registered students only, and editorial visits are recommended with prior registration.

The special exhibition on the upper floor of the truck focuses on the current state of research on making future energies like green hydrogen and fusion power usable. Examples of technology demonstrations include collaborative robots, mobility innovations, and medical technology exhibits.

By visiting the InnoTruck, students will gain tangible insights into key research and technology fields, helping them make informed career choices. For precise details about the planned activities and schedule, consult official BMBF announcements or the Trusetal Comprehensive School’s communications.
