Forest Education Specialist (September 2025) - Advanced Certification Level 3
Join us on these pulse-pounding days!
- 8th-12th September 2025 at Bradfield Woods
- 14th-16th October 2025 and 11th-12th November 2025 at Foxburrow Nature Reserve (with an optional, enchanting overnight stay in the woods on the 15th and 16th of October!)
Get ready to soak up the knowledge from sunup to sundown, 9:30am - 5:30pm each day.

Who's qualified to participate?
- Must be at least 21 yaars old
- Hold a Level 2 or above qualification in teaching or youth work, or have a significant track record of working with the little 'uns
- Prove that you're prepared to deliver a six-session Forest School pilot program during your training
- Have a valid First Aid certificate (16-hour First Aid with an outdoor element recommended)
Don't forget – you don't need Level 1 Forest School Ethos and principles, or Level 2 Forest school Assistant certifications to apply for this Level 3 Forest School Leader training course!

The Lowdown
- Duration: 10 days of face-to-face training, covering Forest School programme delivery, learning and development, planning and preparation, practical skills, and the woodland environment (yes, outdoors! Get ready for dirt and laughter!)
- Assessment: Complete a coursework portfolio within 12 months, involving a heck of a lot of study! (We'll provide resources to help.) The portfolio consists of 5 units: Practical Skills, Planning and Preparation, Woodland Environment, Delivery, and Learning and Development (see below for unit deets).
- Deliver the Goods: You'll plan, prepare, and deliver a six-week Forest School programme as part of your training, with support along the way!
- Mentoring Days: We'll offer handy mentoring days to keep you on track and ready to rock! (Dates TBA during the course.)
Note: You won't be able to run Forest school sessions until you receive your shiny, new certificate (so remember to be patient!)
Diving Deeper: Course Content
The Level 3 course develops leadership, facilitation, practical, and teaching skills to help you grasp the principles and ethos of Forest School. Catering to early years practitioners, teachers, teaching assistants, youth workers, and adult learners, this engaging course prepares you to guide incredible Forest School adventures.

- Practical Skills (deadline: 08.12.2025)
- Planning and Preparation (deadline: 26.01.2026)
- Woodland Environment (deadline: 13.04.2026)
- Delivery (deadline: 13.07.2026)
- Learning and Development (deadline: 01.09.2026)
Don't worry – we'll use a sleek platform called Moodle to submit and mark all your work. (Details provided at the start of the course.)

- Pack Smart: Don't forget your packed lunch, cup, snacks, suitable outdoor clothing (trousers, not shorts!), sturdy footwear, camera (optional), and a hearty sense of adventure!
