Financial education session on investments organized at Rajshahi University by BICM
The Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) is actively engaging with public and private universities across the country, conducting investment workshops and awareness programs to foster financial literacy and investment knowledge among students.
Recently, a workshop titled "Investment in Capital Market" was held at Rajshahi University's Faculty of Business Studies and Department of Economics, as part of this ongoing initiative. The event was presided over by the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Main Uddin.
The program, which aimed to educate university students about investment opportunities, financial products, and capital market operations, was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Mohammad Main Uddin. Distinguished guests included Professor Dr. M. Faridul Islam, former Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, and Assistant Professor Kashfia Sharmin of BICM.
BICM's programs are an initiative to promote financial literacy and investment knowledge among the younger generation. The sessions were conducted by BICM's Assistant Professors Kashfia Sharmin, S. M. Kalbeen Salima, and Lecturer Imran Mahmud. Professor Mohammad Shariful Islam, Director of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), also attended the event.
Dr. Mohammad Zahid Hossain, Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, hosted the event at the conference room of the university's Dean's Complex. Faculty members from various departments of the Faculty of Business Studies, including Professor Rakibul Islam, Head of the Department of Banking and Insurance, were present.
BICM's programs provide students with the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in the field of capital market. These programs align with broader efforts in Bangladesh to promote financial literacy among young people, contributing to their ability to make sound financial and investment decisions in the future.
By following BICM's Google news channel, students can stay updated on upcoming training programs and workshops organized by BICM. The programs are open to students from various departments and faculties of universities, not just Business Studies and Economics.
BICM's efforts are part of a larger mission to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application in the field of capital market investments. The institute regularly organizes training programs and workshops on capital market-related topics for students across public and private universities.
As the capital market continues to grow and evolve, initiatives like those by BICM are crucial in preparing the next generation of investors. By fostering financial literacy and investment knowledge, BICM is empowering students to make informed decisions and contribute to the growth of the capital market.
