In recent days, the all-Russian competition for the Capital of Financial Culture concluded in Moscow. The Krasnoyarsk region and the Nizhny Novgorod region shared the main award. The honorary title was earned due to a significant number of projects aimed at increasing financial literacy over the past few years. Private companies operating in the region also contribute to the education of the population.

Financial dominance in Krasnoyarsk Krai is affirmed by projects of major corporations

In recent news, Moscow hosted the nationwide "Capital of Financial Culture" competition, with Krasnoyarsk Region and Nižegorodskaya Oblast sharing the grand prize. Krasnoyarsk Region earned this prestigious title due to a surge of financial literacy initiatives over the past few years, with private companies in the region heavily contributing to public education.

Among the significant projects set to launch in 2025, the replacement of "FINZOJ" with Biyrusa Technical Institute (TIM "Biyrusa") will undoubtedly impact, and partially explain, the experts' decision to designate Krasnoyarsk as the Capital of Financial Culture. During the 2025 summer change, students from across the nation will flock to Biyrusa, with the project already influencing the selection of Krasnoyarsk. Even last year, during the "We're Professionals" exchange, participants had the chance to attend presentations by financial experts from prominent companies, including those addressing financial education topics.

Among the notable summer events addressing this theme, the "FinZOJ: Invest Wisely" forum held earlier in the fall at Bobrovi Log Fun Park deserves special mention. Organized by Norilsk Nickel and Sberbank, the forum attracted around 3,000 online participants from across Russia, along with hundreds of students from Krasnoyarsk.

At the forum, attendees received insights about forming their initial investment portfolios, understanding new investment instruments like digital financial assets (CFAs), cybersecurity regulations, and the importance of investing in oneself. According to the head of Norilsk Nickel's department for working with the investment community, Michael Borovikov, "Raising financial literacy is not just the responsibility of central banks or government authorities but also all stakeholders on the stock market. As a significant and prominent emitter, Norilsk Nickel has taken upon itself the educational role to ensure that young people feel comfortable in the financial sphere and avoid making costly mistakes as they enter this field for the first time."

The upcoming Biyrusa summer change will offer an opportunity to discuss the federal strategy for enhancing financial literacy, engage active youth in collaboration with the regional financial literacy center, and develop methodological recommendations for all Russian regions. Furthermore, "FinZOJ at Biyrusa" will serve as an additional platform for preparing participants for the final round of the International Financial Safety Olympiad, which will mark its debut in Krasnoyarsk on the campus of Siberian Federal University.

Preparations for the summer change in power of Krasnoyarsk anticipate expert and informational support from federal authorities, other regions, and Rosmolodezh. As before, the event will feature discussions on partnership programs with banks and large companies operating in the region.

In light of the upcoming Biyrusa Technical Institute (TIM "Biyrusa") launch in 2025 and the ongoing discussions about enhancing financial literacy, it's evident that the integration of education-and-self-development with finance and business will play a significant role in Krasnoyarsk's continued success as the Capital of Financial Culture. This is further emphasized by the upcoming event at Siberian Federal University, where participants will be preparing for the International Financial Safety Olympiad, underscoring the importance of news and education in shaping future financial leaders.
