Prof. Dr. Michael Reke and Prof. Dr. Alexander Ferrein have been honoured with the research award of FH Aachen. The duo received the prestigious accolade for their pioneering work in developing a cross-vehicle software architecture for autonomous vehicles.

The research award, sponsored by the Bürgerstiftung of Sparkasse Aachen and supplemented by FH Aachen's sustainability fund, comes with a total prize money of 20,000 euros. This recognition not only celebrates the professors' innovative and forward-looking research but also aims to foster knowledge exchange and the creation of innovative start-ups in the region.

Ferrein and Reke, who are also founders of startups originating from FH Aachen, have been instrumental in influencing the development of software architecture for autonomous vehicles. With the award money, they plan to further advance their team's work in this field, driving progress in mobility, sustainability, and digitization.

The award for Reke and Ferrein serves as a testament to FH Aachen's commitment to practice-oriented, innovative research.
