Fear grips actor Michael Kessler as he navigates the forest after dark
Michael Kessler, a 58-year-old actor and comedian, has a unique challenge ahead of him. Despite his lifelong fear of horror games, he has been chosen as the narrator for the upcoming reality show "Werwolves - The Game of Cunning and Deception."
The show, based on the popular card game "The Werewolves of Düsterewald," will be available in the ARD media library starting September 25th. The show will air on the first channel starting October 2nd at 10:50 PM.
The new format of "Werwolves - The Game of Cunning and Deception" includes horror elements that may seem daunting to Kessler, but he is drawn to them. His fascination with horror games, despite finding them distressing, has been present throughout his entire life.
As a child, Kessler wanted to go on the ghost train at the fair despite his fears. However, a childhood incident where he had to walk through a forest alone at night caused him significant fear due to his anxious nature. This fear of dark forests has remained with him to this day.
Horror movies are "torture" for Kessler, but he is fascinated by them. After watching "Aktenzeichen XY... Ungelöst," a German crime show, he would secretly watch it when his parents were away, only to regret it afterwards as he would search his apartment for intruders, causing himself stress.
In "Werwolves - The Game of Cunning and Deception," thirteen players move into a secluded village. Among the players, three are werewolves disguised as harmless villagers. The werewolves aim to eliminate the other players without being exposed themselves.
The director of "Werwolves - Das Spiel der List und Verrat," narrated by Kessler, is Nils Knappe. Kessler's fear of horror games and his fascination with them are not related to his role as the narrator for the show.
"Werwolves - The Game of Cunning and Deception" is a reality show featuring a game of cunning and deception. With Kessler as the narrator, viewers can expect an entertaining and suspenseful experience as the players navigate through the secluded village, not knowing who among them is a werewolf.
Despite his fear, Kessler is excited to be a part of the show. The new format of "Werwolves - The Game of Cunning and Deception" has him hooked from the start, and he looks forward to sharing this unique experience with viewers. The show will be available in the ARD media library starting September 25th, and will air on the first channel starting October 2nd at 10:50 PM.
