A Yearly Literary Delight in Eißendorf - The Reading Festival

For 44 consecutive years, the quaint town of Eißendorf plays host to a captivating event – the Annual Reading Festival at the Eißendorfer Primary School. This year, over 750 young minds hailing from kindergarten to the GBS are eagerly anticipating the magical adventures that await, as the theme of this year's festival is "Let Miracles Happen".

Much like a beacon drawing authors from far and wide, book enthusiasts flock to Eißendorf at this time of the year. The week-long affair is brimming with readings and fun literary activities tailored to all ages and groups. Each author brings a unique approach to sharing their work, whether it be through spirited readings, lively performances, or engaging multimedia presentations. They dance, they sing, they draw – always ensuring to ignite a spark and nurture a lifelong love for books.

The festivities begin each day with a classic reading session, led by the school's dedicated teaching staff. The children, with smiles as wide as their imaginations, select the books they wish to explore, starting their day with a touch of magic.

Throughout the week, each class finds itself immersed in a world of books, focused on fostering individual talents and encouraging a passion for reading. Each child's book – brimming with captivating stories and miraculous content – takes center stage. In addition to showcasing reading prowess, classes also search for champions who will display their skills during the grand closing festival.

The climax of this literary extravaganza unfolds on Saturday, November 23, from 12 to 4 pm, inviting parents, siblings, and all interested to partake in the celebration. Guests can expect an array of interactive activities across the school and kindergarten rooms, and the opportunity to explore the school's innovative facilities and observe firsthand its future-oriented capabilities.

The day culminates with a pre-Christmas food and drink offering, sealing the affair with a touch of warmth and community spirit. This is more than just a festival – it's an opportunity to witness the budding dreams and boundless potential of the youth in Eißendorf.

At this year's festival, alongside literary activities for all ages, attendees can explore 'learning' opportunities in 'education-and-self-development', as workshops and discussions will delve into various topics that promote lifelong learning. Similarly, in the 'home-and-garden' section, parents and children might discover creative ways to transform their spaces into magical reading nooks, fostering an 'other' lifestyle that prioritizes a love for books.
