Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky 9th Graders Begin State Final Exams
The regional center of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has seen the start of the main period for the Olympiad of General Education (OGE) for 9th graders. More than 1,900 students have embarked on this significant milestone, marking the culmination of their academic year.
The OGE exams, held annually in late spring, typically span several days during the official exam window set by Russian education authorities. In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the exams take place at designated schools or exam centers within the city, with this year's exams scheduled to run until June 16.
On the first day, 191 students completed the oral part of the English language exam, one of the compulsory subjects for the OGE. The written stage of the English language exam will take place on May 22. Other compulsory subjects include Russian Language, Mathematics, Social Studies or History, and Natural Sciences, with students often required to pass Russian Language and Mathematics, plus at least one or two additional subjects relevant to their educational track.
Three testing centers have been organized for the state final exam, and a total of 150 educators are involved in the process. It's important to note that students who miss the exam for a valid reason can take it during the reserve days: June 26-28 and June 30-July 2.
