Udacity Coding Program Launched in Eswatini to Empower Digital Skills and Drive Economic Growth
The Government of Eswatini, in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates, has initiated the Udacity Coding Program - a comprehensive digital skills training program aimed at providing free coding and tech education to 300,000 emaSwati.
The program, launched by Hon. Savannah Maziya, the Minister of ICT, emphasizes the goal of opening global opportunities for learners and positioning Eswatini as a digitally empowered nation ready to participate fully in the global digital economy.
The initiative focuses on key areas such as Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals, Data Science, and other technology-related fields to equip participants with relevant digital skills for the future job market. The program offers courses in Programming Fundamentals, Android Developer Fundamentals, and more.
Interested participants are invited to enroll in the free digital courses offered through the program. While specific step-by-step registration details are not fully outlined, enrollment can be initiated through channels managed by the Ministry of ICT and official platforms linked to the Udacity Coding Program in Eswatini.
Internet Service Providers are encouraged to zero-rate or subsidize data for learners in remote areas to ensure equal access to the program for all emaSwati.
The broader vision of the Udacity Coding Program, as emphasized by Minister Maziya, involves Eswatini's full participation in the global digital economy. Private sector players and donors are urged to support device sponsorship, digital labs, and mentorship opportunities to help achieve this goal.
The launch of the Udacity Coding Program marks a major step in Eswatini's digital transformation journey. Community leaders, the Ministry of Education and Training, and other entities are called upon to transform schools, halls, and community centers into hubs of digital learning to support the program's objectives.
The program provides free digital skills training to 300,000 emaSwati. Upon completion, participants receive certificates of completion that can open doors to advanced training and employment opportunities. The program is designed to foster creativity, problem-solving, and resilience, preparing participants for the challenges of the digital age.
