Established Childcare Facility in Kassel-Waldau
In the heart of Kassel, Germany, two new bus stops have been set up at Waldemar-Petersen-Straße and Liegnitzer Straße, aiming to promote a more active and social commute for children. These bus stops are a result of an initiative by students from Waldau Primary School and possibly local authorities, with the motto 'Please walk with them!'
The creation of these bus stops was driven by safety concerns related to children walking to school. Annika Buchholz, a teacher at Waldau Primary School, stated that driving parents near schoolyards pose a risk to children who are walking. She also noted that children are more alert and fit when they walk to school, and they can meet friends and experience things along the way.
The bus stops were designed with the intention that children go to school together. Spray paint professionals assisted students in designing the walls of the bus stops, and a large crayon, carved from a wooden log by students, adds a unique touch to their decoration.
Mayor Nicole Maisch discussed these bus stops in a recent FFH interview, praising the students' involvement in their creation. The students themselves were actively involved in the process, with one student even carving a large crayon from a piece of wood for the decoration.
The bus stops were set up to facilitate the transportation of children to school, addressing safety concerns and encouraging an active and social commute. They are intended for children only and are part of a larger plan to improve the safety of children walking to school in Kassel-Waldau.
While the name of the student who played a significant role in the construction of the bus stops is not publicly available, their contribution is a testament to the power of youth engagement in community projects. The bus stops stand as a symbol of a safer, more active, and more social commute for children in Kassel-Waldau.
