Early Childhood Fun Fest to take place at Randolph Park, hosted by Ready Covington, this coming Friday
Covington's Early Childhood Fun Fest Set to Kick Off on June 20
Get ready for a fun-filled day of learning and entertainment as the Early Childhood Fun Fest, organised by Read Ready Covington, is set to take place on Friday, June 20. The event, which will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., will be held at the David Housley Pavilion in Randolph Park, located at Prospect Avenue and E. 10th Street.
This exciting event is aimed at helping Covington's young children get a strong start in their school careers. The highlight of the Fun Fest is the PNC Grow Up Great Mobile Learning Adventure, a travelling exhibit that offers hands-on learning fun designed to engage young children in educational activities.
The Mobile Learning Adventure features a variety of interactive, developmentally appropriate games and activities focused on early childhood learning skills. While specific games at the Fun Fest are not yet detailed, events like this typically present a variety of developmentally appropriate play-based experiences that promote literacy, numeracy, sensory exploration, and motor skills in young children through age-appropriate activities.
In addition to the Mobile Learning Adventure, families can expect to find early literacy games, early math activities, sensory and motor skill play stations, and social and cooperative play opportunities. For complete details on specific games and activities beyond the Mobile Learning Adventure, contacting Read Ready Covington directly or checking their official channels would provide the most accurate information.
Pizza, popcorn, and beverages will be sponsored by NKCAC HeadStart, Read Ready Covington, and Kroger on Madison Ave. in Covington. The James E. Biggs Early Childhood Center will also host the Keep the Beat activity, encouraging brain and body development through music-making.
Moreover, Hillview Farms petting zoo and Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission (NKCAC) HeadStart's Ms. Kim will bring bunnies for Animal Adventures. Families will also have the opportunity to engage in the Funshine-hosted Box Play activity, promoting creativity, testing ideas, and problem solving.
The suggested age range for children participating in the event is birth to 6 years old. The event is free and open to families with young children six years or younger. The June date gives programs like HeadStart, preschools, and kindergartens more time to register early.
The Early Childhood Fun Fest is a passion project for Read Ready Covington Director Mary Kay Connolly. The event was moved from fall to summer to offer timely developmentally appropriate activities. Free Family Guides provided by the Kentucky Department of Education, while supplies last.
So, mark your calendars and join us for a day of learning, fun, and community spirit at the Early Childhood Fun Fest on June 20. We look forward to seeing you there!
