Council of Europe to Celebrate European Day of Languages, Launch Motivation Manifesto
The Council of Europe is preparing for the European Day of Languages on 26 September. This annual event, now in its 24th year, honors all languages and their vital roles in education, society, and personal growth.
The Council, dedicated to plurilingual and intercultural language education, works tirelessly to foster mutual respect and social cohesion among its member states. It promotes and protects Europe's linguistic diversity, bringing the benefits of linguistic diversity closer to its citizens, as part of the New Democratic Pact.
To mark the 25th anniversary in 2025, the Council will unveil a Motivation Manifesto. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the European Commission, aims to highlight the crucial role of motivation in successful language learning. The Manifesto seeks to inspire learners and educators alike, promoting a positive and engaging approach to language education.
The European Day of Languages serves as a reminder of the richness and importance of linguistic diversity. The Council of Europe's upcoming Motivation Manifesto promises to invigorate language learning, ensuring that the next 25 years are as vibrant and inclusive as the first.
