Canada's Express Entry Issues Record ITAs in September as Pool Becomes More Competitive

September saw significant movement in Canada's Express Entry system. A total of 10,018 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued, the third-highest count this year. Meanwhile, the pool of candidates decreased by 3,120 profiles.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score ranges triggered in September's Express Entry draws were between 495 and 510 points. From August 17 to September 28, the number of top-scoring profiles increased, with over 3,100 added to the 401-500 score range and 1,601 to the 501-600 range. The 601-1,200 range also saw an increase of 100 profiles, making the pool more competitive.

The most significant drop occurred in the 451 to 480 score range. Despite this, the total number of ITAs issued in September was 3,601 more than in August. The immigration department conducted various draws, including 16 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws, 9 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws, 5 French-language proficiency draws, 2 education draws, and 1 trades draw. Three category-based draws took place, with a trades draw issuing 2,500 ITAs.

September's Express Entry activity reflects the government's ongoing efforts to process a high number of applications. The increased competitiveness of the pool and diverse draw types indicate a continued focus on attracting skilled immigrants to Canada.
