Breaking News: An Uncensored, Comprehensive Overview of Everything Happening Globally
In the vibrant community of Holy Cross, students are given various opportunities to engage, share their voices, and contribute to the ongoing conversations that shape campus life.
One such platform is the #HCRealTalk Survey, designed to foster honest feedback from students and help inform decision-making or dialogue on relevant issues at the university. This quick, anonymous survey serves as a valuable tool for students to be heard and help shape the community's conversations.
To encourage participation and engagement, an ice cream truck giveaway was announced in conjunction with the survey, offering a variety of prizes such as Worcester-themed gift bags, Amazon gift cards, bookstore and Target gift cards, Grubhub gift cards, $100 in dining dollars, and a free ticket to the Spring Concert.
Meanwhile, the Residence Hall Association (RHA) hosted the Battle of the Roommates event on April 25, with prizes worth up to $700. Despite the excitement, some participants were surprised by the event, as it was not anticipated.
Elsewhere on campus, students like Caitlin Wiffler '27, a writer for The Spire and The Eggplant, the student newspapers at Holy Cross, were busy making their mark. Over the weekend, Caitlin ventured to Boston with her friends and spent $7.22 on a small iced latte with whole milk at a coffee shop. In Boston, she also added three new tops to her wardrobe, purchasing them from Brandy Melville.
It's worth noting that Caitlin has not been mentioned in relation to any parking pass issues on campus. Navigating temporary parking passes can be challenging, especially during Spring and Easter Breaks, when the need for such passes arises.
On a different note, a few students found themselves without lunch options between 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. on a Sunday, as no food was served during that time.
Lastly, the Battle of the Roommates event was initially publicized as a way to "appeal to the youths," but it was later clarified that this was not the case. The event was open to all students, regardless of age.
