Brandenburg has emerged as a leader in early education, ranking third in Germany for the proportion of daycare centers near me with a high professional quota. As of March 1, 2024, 81.2 percent of Brandenburg's facilities meet the recommended threshold of 82.5 percent or more professionally qualified staff.
Brandenburg's success is part of a broader trend in eastern states, which boast an average professional quota of 87 percent, significantly higher than the western states' 69 percent. Thuringia leads the pack with an impressive 94.3 percent, while Bavaria trails at a national low of 54.5 percent.
Berlin, despite being an eastern state, lags behind its neighbors with an average of 74.6 percent. However, it still outperforms the national average of 72 percent. Notably, only 0.2 percent of Brandenburg's daycare centers have a professional quota below 50 percent, compared to Berlin's 6.9 percent.
Professionally qualified staff, including social pedagogues and kindergarten pedagogues, are crucial for high-quality early education. Brandenburg's commitment to maintaining a high professional quota ensures that children in the state receive top-notch care and preparation for their future educational journeys.
