Berufspatenprojekt's 'Fit for the Job Interview' Project a Success, to Continue Next Year
The Berufspatenprojekt, Jugendberufshilfe, and Handwerkskammer Kassel successfully collaborated on the 'Fit for the Job Interview' project. Despite initial hurdles, the initiative was deemed a success and will continue next year. Students from BÜA classes and seven vocational schools participated, gaining valuable interview experience with fictional companies.
The project involved a booking portal, allowing students to schedule realistic interviews. Eleven experienced mentors from diverse fields acted as sparring partners, providing feedback and tips for future job applications. Despite technical difficulties and missed appointments, the project was considered successful. Brigitte Vogler, the coordinator, is available for further information.
The Berufspatenprojekt, which supports young people, often with migration or refugee backgrounds, in their transition from school to work, is seeking more life and work-experienced volunteers to mentor young people. Local businesses, educational institutions, community organizations, and professionals have supported the project in recruiting volunteer mentors.
The 'Fit for the Job Interview' project, despite initial challenges, was successful in providing students with practical interview experience. It will continue next year, with the Berufspatenprojekt seeking more mentors to support young people in their entry into working life. Interested parties can contact Brigitte Vogler for details.
