Visit of a Students' Delegation from Carlo-Schmid School in September 2024
Thrilled to host its exchange partners, Pforzheim's Mayor Frank Fillbrunn extended a warm welcome to a group of students from Gernika and the Carlo-Schmid School. After the German group's journey to the Basque Country in September 2024, the reverse visit to Pforzheim is now underway.
These lucky students from the Instituto Barrutialde are diving headfirst into exploring Pforzheim and engaging in enlightening discussions with their German counterparts. Delighted by the visit, Mayor Fillbrunn emphasized, "Intercultural experiences and encounters in today's world foster a cosmopolitan, tolerant, and peace-promoting society."
The day ended with the visitors penning their memorable experiences in the Pforzheim guestbook.
Apart from engaging with their exchange partners, the Basque students savored an enriching journey into German culture and educational systems. Their itinerary comprised visits to the Jewellery Museum, the RoWi workshop, the Gasometer in Pforzheim, the Natural History Museum in Karlsruhe, and Heidelberg Castle.
For the past three years, Pforzheim and the Carlo-Schmid School have shared an exchange program. This year, the first-year students of the Social and Health Sciences Gymnasium are participating.
It's worth noting that student exchange programs involve educational exchanges where students learn about different cultures, educational systems, and experiences while staying with local families, attending classes, and taking part in cultural activities.
