Adarsh Kumar, 18, Wins Chegg.org Global Student Prize 2025
Eighteen-year-old Adarsh Kumar from Bihar, India, has been named the winner of the Chegg.org Global Student Prize 2025. The young changemaker, who grew up in poverty, received the award at a ceremony in London, accompanied by Chegg.org, the organization that partnered with the Varkey Foundation to launch and present the prize. Adarsh was praised by Nathan Schultz, CEO of Chegg, for his courage and impact on young changemakers.
Adarsh's journey began at the age of 14 when he traveled alone from his home in Bihar to Kota, Rajasthan, with just 1,000 Rupees. Despite his humble beginnings, he launched the non-profit Mission Badlao at the age of 13, achieving real change in his community. His dedication and impact led to his selection from nearly 11,000 nominations and applications from 148 countries.
Sunny Varkey, Founder of the Varkey Foundation, congratulated Adarsh, highlighting the power of education. Adarsh's achievements include founding Skillzo, a platform empowering over 20,000 underserved high school students. He also won a full scholarship to Jayshree Periwal International School worth 30 lakh Rupees. The prize money will be used to launch SkillzoX, an AI-powered mentorship platform, and the Ignite Fellowship.
